White River Baptist Church exists to fulfill the great commission, faithfully preach the word of God, and live for the Lord Jesus Christ. Our history began in 1981 when a missionary named Tom Hardin came from the Mission Boulevard Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas and began teaching Bible studies to a faithful group of hungry souls in Pettigrew, Arkansas.
Over the next three years that group became grounded in the faith through the teaching of God’s Word, and, in October of 1984, was organized into a church. We are an unaffiliated Baptist church, which means that we are not a part of any convention, denomination, or other governing organization. We believe scriptural churches are begun by an existing church and then commended to the Lord to be completely self-governing in all things.
Today WRBC operates a food pantry each Friday morning for the residents of South Madison County, and an addictions ministry called “HOPE” on Friday evenings. In our services on Sunday and Wednesday, we seek to keep the Lord Jesus as our focus in everything we do. It would be our privilege to have you come and join us some time, we would love to see you.
